Triseum Validation Pilot

Recently, a Texas-based company, Triseum, joined the FCL and became the first industry partner to have game-based learning as its core business. Triseum grew out of the Live Lab in the Department of Visualisation at Texas A&M University and sees game-based learning as an emerging force that positively impacts learning outcomes. In order to better understand how schools in Europe can exploit game-based learning, Triseum is using the FCL Validation Service and funding a small pilot with schools in around five countries. Selected schools will develop and test pedagogical scenarios and learning activities utilising two Triseum games, ARTé: Mecenas™ and Variant: Limits™.

Call for Triseum teachers from Poland and Italy

The Triseum Pilot aims to collect and analyse evidence on the implementation of two learning games (ARTé: Mecenas and Variant: Limits) in schools in five countries across Europe. Throughout the study, members of the evaluation team coordinated by European Schoolnet and representatives of Triseum will work closely with the secondary school teachers selected to take part in the Pilot to conduct the study.

The pilot looks to evaluate how the two games can be implemented in schools and what are the effects on student knowledge, classroom engagement and motivation to learn.

To support this aim, we are opening a call for teachers in Italy and Poland interested in the effects of game-based learning in their classrooms.

If you are a secondary school teacher of pupils aged 16 to 18/19 in Italy or Poland, you and your students have good English language skills, you have moderate to high levels of ICT competence and your school is equipped with the necessary requirements to run the games, we look forward to hearing from you!

Four secondary school teachers from Italy and four from Poland will be selected to participate in the Triseum Pilot:

  • two teachers of Art History, world history, geography, economics, business studies per country, to pilot ARTé: Mecenas
  • two teachers of Calculus, Pre-Calculus per country to pilot Variant: Limits


As a Triseum Pilot teacher, you will be among the first to try and test one of the Triseum educational games with your students! You will design and implement lesson plans and learning scenarios based on the games, and give feedback on their implementation in the classroom, among others. You will also be invited to attend webinars, participate in an online community of exchange, as well as in two meetings in the Future Classroom Lab in Brussels, Belgium, with flights, meals and hotel nights covered by the project. On top of all this, you will have fun exchanging with other enthusiastic teachers like yourself.

The Call is open for teachers from Italy and Poland.

The deadline for submitting your application is Sunday, 17 September (23:59 CEST), 2017. The results of the Triseum Pilot teachers' selection will be announced via email by 22 September 2017.
