European Schoolnet has organised fee-based courses in its own training venue since 2012. Future Classroom Lab is a unique and inspiring learning environment in Brussels, that challenges visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design in their classrooms. The training opportunities include from 2 to 5-day workshops and courses to address today's teaching challenges and the classrooms of the future.

Interactive technologies and project-based learning for the future classroom

The participants will learn in this course how to carry out project-based learning (PBL) with the support of tools and methodologies that will increase and enhance the level of interaction and collaboration in the classroom. During this course we will look into how PBL can be used to develop deep content knowledge and key competences within students. Read more here
Enhancing STEM practice and strategy in secondary schools
5-DAY COURSE | 11-15 May 2020
The course provides teachers in secondary schools with resources and ideas to help them bring effective and quality teaching of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in their classrooms, while developing and applying innovative teaching approaches to increase young students' knowledge, skills and interest in STEM. The course includes hands-on workshops (e.g. coding) and active exploring of online resources such as virtual labs and research centers or space related activities, among other ingenious tools. The teachers have the opportunity to exchange knowledge while being introduced to different creative teaching approaches and practices, to be used both in STEM and in cross-curricula capacity, in the classroom. The course will also look into why it is important to develop a STEM strategy at the whole-school level and how to do that in practice.
Future Classroom capacity-building for Initial Teacher Education Lecturers
Workshop 10-11 June 2020 (or 10-12 June with School Innovation Forum)
The workshop is aimed at lecturers, trainers and coordinators of Initial Teacher Education at Higher Education level. The workshop sessions are hands-on and promote active collaboration. The participants will learn about strategies, content, methods and tools to support student teachers with the implementation of innovative digital pedagogical practices in their teaching practice, continuing professional development and professional learning networks. The workshop explains how to benefit from the In-class Teaching Modules and the participation of students to the "Networked Teacher – Teaching in the 21st Century" MOOC (autumn 2020). The workshop takes place 10-11 June and it is possible to combine it with the EUN's School Innovation Forum (international conference) on 11-12 June. FCL Summer Academy: Enhancing creativity and innovation in my classroom

Active learning in my school and classroom

The Future Classroom is a space for active learning. It integrates the optimal use of the learning space, technology and pedagogy to build 21st century skills for the learners. During this course we will explore how the Future Classroom learning zones together with a Future Classroom pedagogy and technologies effects students. The course combines both theory and hands-on activities, and it is aimed at teachers who want to adapt the principles of active learning into their teaching practice, and teachers and coordinators who consider designing or adapting learning spaces at school.
