The Future Classroom Lab (FCL) provides opportunities for professional development of teachers through onsite courses and workshops regarding new pedagogical approaches and trends, as well as a series of webinars on versatile topics.
FCL has inspired many teachers, schools and organisations to create their own lab or adapted learning spaces based on their local needs and interests; these initiatives are presented in the network of learning labs. Such local initiatives are often supported by the Future Classroom Ambassadors, a network of innovative teachers appointed by education ministries that support the mainstreaming of innovative teaching and learning approaches at national level.
Educational technology and pedagogical research is an essential part of the FCL community. To support ICT companies, start-ups, and research projects interested in carrying out school pilots, European Schoolnet has developed a Future Classroom Validation Service, which is about working with schools to test new ideas, products and services targeting the education market.
