About the Course

More and more schools are adopting digital technologies, from learning management systems to AI tutors and adaptive learning technologies. These digital tools and resources collect various trace and learning data that teachers can use for the benefit of their classroom. Furthermore, teachers will benefit from developing their data literacy, helping their students become data literate to adapt themselves to a data-informed world. This on-site course on Data Literacy and Innovative Technology Practices for Active Learning is designed to give a hands-on approach to help participants develop their own ideas about data literacy and the effective use of data collection tools for assessment and feedback. Through workshops, participants will become more familiar with learning analytics and how to use them to support their students’ learning. The training will explore data practices in the classroom to benefit all students, including those with disabilities and special needs. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange with colleagues on how to design lessons and activities that make learners develop data literacy and reflect on their own learning.

The course combines both hands-on activities and background information that will enable teachers to transform their teaching practices into one that promotes active learning. It also facilitates innovative learning environments and the use of relevant educational technology. The course emphasizes collaborative and peer learning through communication and collaboration with a multicultural group of participants, sharing best practices, etc.

The course is targeted primarily to secondary school teachers and school leaders, but it can also be relevant for other levels and other stakeholders, such as teacher trainers.

All courses will be delivered in English, and participants must have at least solid basic skills in English (listening, speaking) to be able to follow instructions and fully engage in the course activities.
