Teacher professional development for the digital age

European Schoolnet has organised fee-based courses in its own training venue since 2012. Future Classroom Lab is a unique and inspiring learning environment in Brussels, that challenges visitors to rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design in their classrooms. The training opportunities include from 2 to 5-day workshops and courses to address today's teaching challenges and the classrooms of the future.

Active learning in my school and classroom

5-DAY COURSE | February 20-24, 2023 (FULLY BOOKED)

Moving away from a conventional and teacher-centered classroom into teaching practices that promote active learning facilitated by innovative learning environments and the use of relevant educational technology can be challenging for teachers and schools. During this course the participants will experience and explore a student-centered, active learning pedagogy. At the same time they will experience and explore the role of the space design and the integration of educational technology. Read more here.

 

Innovative practices for engaging STEM teaching

5-DAY COURSE | April 24-28, 2023

The course provides STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teachers with resources and ideas to develop more engaging science lessons and to increase students' interest for STEM subjects and careers. The course includes various hands-on workshops and active exploring of resources covering topics like integrated STEM teaching, sustainability, green spaces, STEM+Arts, and more. The course will also share tips on carrying out outreach of STEM education based on the experience of ScientixTV. Read more here.

 

FCL Summer Academy: Enhancing creativity and innovation in my classroom

5-DAY COURSE  |  July 3-7, 2023 

Do schools kill or nurture creativity? Would you like your school to be a place where the students can develop skills and attitudes that combine elements such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, imagination and inventiveness? This course will lead the participants to reflect on how to nurture creativity in students and how to teach creatively! Read more here.

 

Cultivating inclusive learning environments

5-DAY COURSE|  October 23-27, 2023 

This on-site course is designed to give a hands-on approach to help participants develop their own ideas about inclusive learning and the effective use of technology. Participants will become more familiar with active learning and how its implementation may cultivate inclusive learning environments. Focus will be given on the use and integration of ICT in the classroom in order to benefit all students, including those with disabilities as it enables them to access learning, gives them greater autonomy, unlocks the potential for those with communication difficulties, etc. Teachers will be given the opportunity to learn how to design lessons and activities for learners with social, emotional, behavioral and learning difficulties. Interactive technologies for the future classroom

5-DAY COURSE  |  November 20-24, 2023 (FULLY BOOKED)

In this course the participants will reflect on the pedagogical principles which enable interactive and collaborative learning environments. The participants will learn in this course tools and methodologies to increase and enhance the level of interaction in the classroom, such as presenting and collaboration, digital storytelling, video and audio, interactive exercises and game-based learning.
