NEXUS-M Echosystem for Learning

NEXUS-M Echosystem for Learning is a flexible and modular environment designed to integrate innovative spaces, active methodologies, and advanced digital technologies. The system promotes collaborative learning, problem solving, tinkering, digital storytelling, and the conscious use of Artificial Intelligence. Through approaches such as UDL, cooperative learning, and design thinking, these innovative learning spaces support inclusion, personalization, and the development of 21st-century skills.

One of the most distinctive elements of our learning ecosystem is the subject-based classroom model. Instead of keeping students in the same room throughout the school day, students move between classrooms dedicated to different disciplines, while teachers remain in their own specialized learning environments.

Our school currently hosts 26 subject-based classrooms, equally divided between Humanities (13) and Scientific disciplines (13). Each classroom is designed as a dedicated learning environment and is visually characterized by color-coded furniture, helping students immediately recognize the disciplinary identity of the space.

The classrooms are equipped with modular and flexible furniture, enabling rapid reconfiguration of the learning environment to support a wide variety of pedagogical approaches such as collaborative learning, debate, project-based learning and cooperative learning

Each classroom is also technologically enhanced with:

  • high-speed classroom Wi-Fi

  • digital screens with wireless mirroring

  • Apple TV

  • 1:1 iPad learning environment

These tools allow teachers to seamlessly integrate digital resources, interactive activities, and multimedia content into everyday teaching.

A distinctive feature of our classrooms is the visual storytelling applied to classroom doors. Each door includes graphics related to the subject taught in that room. Through a QR code, students and visitors can access short audio narrations that introduce the theme and the disciplinary context, creating a first immersive learning experience even before entering the classroom.

The flexible design of the spaces and the available technologies support the implementation of active learning methodologies, including those promoted by the Italian Avanguardie Educative movement, such as MLTV, Debate, Project-Based Learning and cooperative learning practices

In addition to the indoor classrooms, the school also offers an outdoor learning space located in the courtyard. This area is equipped with modular seating and shaded structures that allow students to comfortably work outdoors while using their iPads. Teachers regularly use this environment for collaborative activities, group discussions, and creative learning sessions. The outdoor space promotes well-being, engagement and concentration, while maintaining full access to digital learning tools and supporting methodologies such as collaborative learning, inquiry-based learning and project-based learning, MLTV.

Together, these environments form a flexible and dynamic ecosystem that promotes student autonomy, cognitive activation and disciplinary immersion, while allowing teachers to personalize their learning environments and design activities tailored to their subjects.
