E.E.I. José Zorrilla is a specific school for the second cycle of pre-primary education. It is located in La Calzada, a neighborhood in the western area of Gijón.

The projects carried out in this school have among other characteristics that of being STEAM projects, in which different areas of knowledge are contemplated and enhance various skills and knowledge, raising learning situations that require the implementation of multilanguages, new forms of communication, as well as the use of technological tools to search and transmit information or to work as a team within the framework of the common project.

In recent years, the centre has introduced robotics and educational programming in its classrooms as highly motivating instruments that facilitate, among other processes, logical and analytical thinking.

Computational thinking is also worked on because it makes it necessary to deploy cognitive skills and seek creative solutions to problems. A new way of reasoning, necessary for the society in which our children live.

A dynamic classroom is proposed, which does not mean that all its spaces are technological, but that the experiences that are lived in them involve active, collaborative, playful learning, etc.
