FCL Erbakan is an innovative learning lab equipped with advanced technology, flexible setups, and rich content, far beyond the resources available in most schools in Türkiye. To maximize student benefit, branch teachers developed a comprehensive plan. They received online training on "Designing Innovative Learning Spaces," "Using Innovative Learning Spaces in Education," "Effective and Efficient Use of Technology in Education," and "Web 2.0 Tools" through OBA, followed by practical training in the FCL Erbakan lab.
As 11th and 12th graders are focused on university exam preparation, and 9th graders are adapting to high school, 10th graders were chosen as the target group for the FCL Erbakan lab. Lessons incorporate both formal and hybrid teaching models, making full use of all six learning zones in the classroom. This approach prioritizes group work, peer learning, project-based learning, and collaborative activities, emphasizing the effective and efficient use of technology.
The lab is equipped with five all-in-one computers, three 3D printers, two smartboards, auxiliary hardware, and robotic coding tools such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Additional resources include an HD camera for green screen applications, a projector, and other devices. These tools enable students to utilize Web 2.0 tools like Canva, Powtoon, Animaker, Bubbl.us, and Plickers, along with numerous STEM materials such as electronic circuits, switches, processors, and soldering devices. Under teacher supervision, students engage in collaborative projects, enhancing their technological skills.
In the lab, students use advanced computers and mobile devices for research and project planning. They gather around interactive tables to organize their project processes, leveraging the internet and other resources. Using STEM materials and robotic coding tools, they bring their projects to life through group work. Collaborative efforts continue as students refine their products, improving them before presenting their work to peers. The process culminates with students showcasing their projects, fostering a culture of feedback and continuous learning.
The primary goal is to ensure students use technology collaboratively, guided by their teachers throughout this natural learning process.
