The Future Classroom Lab at our middle school is an innovative learning space designed to integrate ICT into daily curricular teaching through a learning station organization. The environment is structured according to the six methodological zones of the European Schoolnet Future Classroom Lab model—Create, Interact, Present, Investigate, Exchange, and Develop—making the learning experience dynamic, engaging, and focused on developing transversal and digital skills.
The Create zone is dedicated to producing digital content: students can create videos, podcasts, multimedia presentations, and creative materials using specialized software, tablets, and computers. The Interact zone emphasizes collaborative work and playful learning, thanks to stations with educational apps, basic coding activities, and tools for interactive simulations. The Present zone is equipped with a video camera, microphone, lighting, and a green screen, allowing for the recording of presentations, interviews, school news, or subject-specific explanations.
The Investigate zone offers digital tools for researching, gathering, and analysing information, encouraging students to develop inquiry and problem-solving skills. In the Exchange zone, movable furniture and writable surfaces facilitate discussions, group work, brainstorming, and peer tutoring activities. The Develop zone offers personalized reinforcement or in-depth learning through digital platforms, individualized exercises, and self-assessment activities.
The pedagogical approach is inspired by active methodologies such as cooperative learning, station-based learning, flipped classroom, problem-based learning, gamification, and real-world tasks. These strategies foster autonomy, creativity, communication skills, and critical thinking, with the teacher's role focused on facilitating and guiding the learning process.
