Future Learning Lab - Lucca (IT)

The Future Learning Lab (FLL) in Lucca (Italy) is a highly innovative environment focused on field-based research and experimentation in pedagogy and didactics. The primary target audience includes teachers from all school levels and students aged 13 to 19.

The FLL Lab is primarily used in the mornings by high school students from our Institute. In the afternoons, it is open for teacher training, community activities aimed at young people, or for our students to participate in educational and formative activities to develop disciplinary and character-building skills useful for their future.

The FLL represents a new concept of schooling, with an interdisciplinary vision that goes beyond the traditional “one classroom for one class” model. It consists of 12 exclusive spaces that can be utilized through educational planning incorporating STEAM content, aligned with the framework of applied methodologies: backward design, Scenario Application, PBL (Project-Based Learning), CBL (Challenge-Based Learning), and finally TEAL (Technology-Enhanced Active Learning), in a flexible and non-prescriptive way.

There are 12 different environment settings: a Recording Studio and rehearsal room, WebRadio, two informal spaces, a multipurpose Debate room, a TEAL room, a Multimedia room, a Maker FabLab, an immersive environment, and an Agorà. Each space is equipped with high-quality, customized resources (with materials suggested by the names of each space) that enable behaviors aligned with learning objectives.

Significant partnerships with other educational institutions, universities, foundations, associations, and companies enable the creation of a Training Catalog that extends beyond the school and engages the entire community with its public-private resources.

Partnership:

We have established partnerships with leading technology and furniture players. Our focus is on building partnerships through public-private intent agreements.
