IES Albalat is a public centre for Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and vocational training, located in Navalmoral de la Mata, in the north-east of the province of Cáceres, which has a significant socio-cultural diversity. Since the 17/18 academic year, we have embarked on a process of constant reflection on the way we work in order to make inclusion, educational innovation and cooperation the foundations of our school project.

We are a school committed to the search for active methodologies that adapt to our scale and that has led us to deepen our collaborative work and educational innovation as a way to contribute to the best possible education for our students.

In the conviction that with active methodologies and STEAM collaborative work we take advantage of the collegiate potential of our work, we have created the two forms of teaching that characterise us: Project Weeks, a teaching organisation that allows us to jointly develop the lines of our educational project, and Shared Teaching, by which two or more teachers, jointly, equitably and planned, in the same educational space, exchange teaching experience and develop a true integrated curriculum by competencies. In this pedagogical laboratory, the methodologies of the FCL have been integrated into the daily life of IES Albalat and have enriched it.

Since the 22/23 academic year, we have had a fully equipped FCL classroom which has become a reference point for our centre and in which we hope to continue generating projects with a competency-based approach, full of learning situations that prepare our students to be citizens of the times in which they live.
