INSPIRIA Learning Lab

Inspiria learning lab is a 40 m2 room situated in our Science center in Sarpsborg (Norway). The lab is about student active creative learning in flexible technology rich environments. We have flexible furniture to allow for different learning zones and styles. We have a technology partner who provides us with new ed tech equipment and digital school infrastructure such as different types of boards and interactive monitors, pads and computers, as well as a range of robots, microbits, 3D-printers, sewing machines, lazer cutters. We also have stations with physical analogue material, such as cardboard, colouring and tools, and a station with materials, second hand toys and games.

We use our Science center pedagogy as a base for everything we do, combined with other approaches such as fx design thinking, tinkering, block programming, thinking classroom and more.

Our main target groups are school teachers and leaders. We use the lab for teacher education and courses and plan to develop a wide range of learning programmes on digital transformation and student active teaching.

Thanks to a tight relationship with both schools and the municipality in our region, approximately 1000 students and their teachers visit us every year through school visits and teacher training.

Partnership: We have a partnership with Atea school. Atea and their co partners provide the lab with much of the tech equipment and we also have a tight cooperation about school development.
