LEGO 1st meeting, Italy

On 25th September 2020 Mr Merlo, representative of our local LEGO partner located in Milan, visited us at our Future Lab "Lorenzo Farinelli" at IIS "Savoia-Benincasa", in Ancona (Italy). As one of the 5 schools selected to represent 5 countries in EUN's project with LEGO Education "LEGO Learning Lab – FCL Ambassador Network", we were very excited.

Indeed we regard LEGO as one of leading brands in the field of innovation. We had had the pleasure of visiting their stand at the last BETT in London (2020) and had enjoyed their products, starting right with your Education Spike Prime Set which, we think, will pave the way to new educational horizons in our country as well as on a global level. For millions of Italians LEGO has always been a synonym for certainty and reliability.

Our project leader and Robotics expert, Mr Andrea Cesetti, and Mr Gionata Massi, both IT teachers at IIS "Savoia-Benincasa", welcomed Matteo who provided us with 15 brand new sets that we will be using in our upcoming dissemination events. We unsealed the kits and were given a fully detailed explanation of the storage box with the 2 sorting trays as well as of its incredible content: 528 pieces which will help our kids learn the most valuable XXI century skills and become innovative and creative while still having fun. We examined all together the components and their functions in the box. Noteworthy was the choice of new colours like sky-blue and fuchsia of some of the building elements, which – said Matteo – is aimed to draw the girls' attention to a traditionally and wrongly all-male field like STEM.

What more? Yes, stay tuned for our next update.
