TKALFCL

The TKALFCL learning space at Tire Kutsan Anatolian High School has been designed primarily for upper secondary students (Grades 9–12), while also supporting teachers and student groups involved in interdisciplinary and innovative learning initiatives. Developed in accordance with the European Schoolnet Future Classroom Lab (FCL) framework, the space promotes student-centred, active and collaborative learning through six purposefully designed learning zones.

TKALFCL serves upper secondary students and teachers—especially those working in STEM, ICT and social sciences—as well as student teams engaged in project-based work such as eTwinning, Erasmus+, and other national or international initiatives. Learning activities within the space are intentionally planned around the specific purpose and function of each zone.

In the Investigate zone, students take part in inquiry-based and project-based learning, conducting research, analysing data and exploring real-world problems using desktop computers, tablets and various digital tools. The Create zone focuses on digital design, multimedia production, coding and 3D modelling, enabling learners to transform their ideas into concrete products. In the Develop zone, students refine and improve prototypes and project outputs through interatcive processes, design thinking and hands-on experimentation.

Collaboration is central in the Exchange zone, where flexible furniture and adaptable layouts encourage teamwork, peer interaction and shared problem-solving. The Present zone provides opportunities for students to design and deliver digital content—such as educational videos, digital storytelling projects and presentations—using tools including action cameras, interactive displays and green-screen technology. The Interact zone supports technology-enhanced participation through interactive activities, real-time feedback, communication platforms and Web 2.0 tools that foster creativity, assessment and active engagement.

All technological tools have been selected in line with both the European Schoolnet framework and the national vision for innovative learning environments. Interactive whiteboards facilitate whole-class discussions and the introduction of learning scenarios. Desktop computers and a high-performance laptop support research, design processes and advanced media production. Tablets promote mobility and collaborative work, while the 3D printer enhances maker-based and STEM learning by transforming digital designs into physical prototypes. The green-screen area and action camera enable high-quality multimedia production, and Web 2.0 tools further strengthen interaction, collaboration and reflective learning.

Technology integration is guided by the SAMR model, with a strong emphasis on the Modify and Redefine levels to enable learning experiences that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to achieve. Within this environment, teachers take on the role of facilitators, and students become active creators, collaborators and problem-solvers. Through its structured, technology-rich design, TKALFCL fosters the development of 21st-century skills and supports innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
