The KEŞİF FCL learning environment has been developed to meet the needs of lower secondary school students aged 11–15 as well as their teachers, using a learner-centred and holistic educational approach. It is organized into a series of interconnected zones, each designed to serve a specific function while contributing to the overall development of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and research skills.
The Present Zone serves as the main setting for lesson delivery, classroom discussions, video viewings, and student presentations. With the support of an interactive whiteboard, screen, and sound system, this area allows for both structured instruction and active student involvement.
The Interact Zone focuses on increasing engagement through the use of digital worksheets, quizzes, and game-based learning activities supported by tablets and interactive display technologies.
The Create Zone provides opportunities for students to build media literacy and digital production skills through hands-on experiences. Equipped with a green screen, camera, lighting and sound systems, virtual reality headsets, a 3D printer, and content creation software, this zone supports multimedia work and STEM-oriented projects.
In the Investigate Zone, students engage in inquiry-based learning using desktop computers, robotic coding kits, simulation tools, and experimental materials that encourage research, coding, and problem-solving.
The Develop Zone supports individual learning, reading, and game-based activities, while the Exchange Zone enables project-based learning and collaborative work through digital tools.
Together, these zones form a flexible and inclusive learning environment that responds to diverse learning needs and supports the development of essential 21st-century skills through the thoughtful integration of technology.
