École Internationale Gaston Thorn (EIGT) is one of Luxembourg’s six public European schools, established in 2022 to meet the diverse educational needs of the country’s international community. Located in the heart of Luxembourg City, the school offers primary and secondary education in three language sections: French, English, and German, reflecting its commitment to multilingualism. The school’s educational philosophy centres around three core pillars: democracy, music, and digitality, which guide its approach to teaching and learning. With a focus on democratic participation, the school involves students, parents, and teachers in its decision-making processes, ensuring that the school’s development plan reflects the values and needs of the entire community.

EIGT places a strong emphasis on integrating digital skills into the curriculum to foster active participation, critical thinking, and creativity among students. As part of the national One2One initiative, secondary students receive iPads, enhancing their learning experience and preparing them for future challenges. The school’s approach combines cutting-edge technology with a focus on inclusive education, following the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) model to ensure that all students, including those with special needs, can engage fully in the learning process. This innovative approach positions EIGT as a leader in using digital tools to create an inclusive, future-oriented learning environment.
