Maia City Hall inaugurated the new Make it Pedagogical Learning Space on September 5, 2018, in the renovated facilities of the former Pedras Rubras Primary School. Emeritus Professor Mike Sharples, The Open University, UK – Keynote Speaker of the 3rd SUPERTABi Conference, is the patron of the training room and left us an inspiring message: "Good pedagogy connects ideas, empowers learners, changes minds. This is a teacher training center for educators from all Portuguese regions. There is also a research center were we run several educational technology projects. The Learning Space has computers, flexible furniture, robotics kits, multiple interactive panel android, augmented reality systems and is always receiving new techs tools for teachers to try in class. We conduct teacher trainings using flipped learning, PBL, Game-based learning, digital storytelling, cooperative and collaborative learning, and many active learning models. Trainings, workshops, courses, talks and public events take place throughout the school year.
