Since the launch of the Future Classroom Lab in 2012, European Schoolnet has been building a community of key stakeholders in the field of school innovation. The Future Classroom Lab programme in fact, attracted the interest of, and engaged with, 34 supporting education ministries, more than 30 industry partners, several universities and initial teacher education institutes, all willing to challenge and rethink the role of pedagogy, technology and design in schools.
Many schools have already created their own learning lab, an innovative learning environment that helps promoting active learning among students. For all schools that consider embarking on this journey, European Schoolnet has published practical guidelines providing step-by-step guidance on how to create their own learning labs or to adapt their learning spaces in other ways. The guidelines include the main report and six case studies from different countries.
Because we know that implementing new resources in a classroom can be a challenging, we selected 3 tools to help you make the first move towards digital cultural heritage!
Policymakers, school leaders, teachers and all stakeholders looking forward to spaces better supporting needs of students and teachers are concerned with two main questions: how to design such spaces? Once built, how do we know those spaces are indeed conducive to better learning in practice?

European Schoolnet is looking for teachers from Bulgaria (1), Croatia (4), Finland (2), France (2), Hungary (3), Italy (4), Malta (4), North Macedonia (1), Poland (3), Portugal (5), Romania (1), Serbia (2), Spain (5), Turkey (4), and from the European Schools (6), to join the Europeana Education User Group, between October 2019 to August 2020.
The 3rd edition of the Future Classroom Lab Summer Academy took place in Brussels on 1-5 July 2019. It brought together 33 participants from 9 countries to explore ways of enhancing creativity and innovation in the classroom.
European Schoolnet's Future Classroom Lab (FCL), has been progressively building a community of key stakeholders in the field of innovation in education. It is crucial for such a community to have the chance to meet, both in person and online, and explore new ways of working together more closely and transforming teaching and learning. Because of this, European Schoolnet happily hosted the first edition of the School Innovation Forum on 20 and 21 June 2019 in Brussels.
The newsletter includes news from the Future Classroom Lab, related EC-funded and other European Schoolnet projects, including Novigado, EDU Regio, ITELab, and many more. The newsletter is issued approximately four times a year, in English.
